THE PEQUOT RUNNING CLUB
The Pequot Running Club, Inc., established in 1978, is comprised of fitness conscious individuals who enjoy running.
The membership includes runners of all ages and abilities. There are those who run strictly as a form of recreation and there are serious racers.
The common thread is the enjoyment of running with a group of people who share the same enthusiasm.
The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Wakeman Boys/Girls Club, 385 Center Street, Southport (off Exit 19), Route 95 at 8:10 AM.
There are several courses of different lengths measuring from 2 miles to over 20 miles, all starting and finishing at the Club.
Members have free access to locker rooms and shower facilities. During warmer months there are also weekly group track workouts at Weston High School.
The Club is also the proud sponsor of the acclaimed Thanksgiving Day 5 mile Road Race and 2.7 mile walk through Connecticut 's Gold Coast.
The Race has become a tradition for runners throughout the region.
Run along the Southport coast and enjoy the picturesque landscape.
Runners of all ages and abilities are warmly welcomed!
