Andrew Wilbur and Gillian Wilbur, competing for the Pequot Running Club of Southport, had an outstanding day at the Connecticut TAC Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships on November 13. The event was open to all Connecticut high school runners.

Andrew Wilbur, a senior at Wilbraham and Monson Academy, won the young men's event, running 5,000 meters in 16:37 over a very hilly course at Mansfield Hollow State Park near Willimantic.

Gill Wilbur, a junior at Westminister School in Simsbury, took second in the women's intermediate event with a time of 20:45 for the 5,000 meters. She led all the way only to be edged out in a sprint for the finish.
